Out on 17th November, Grinny Grandad return with their second single on Freshly Squeezed, Keep Your Hands to Yourself. Hailing from York (UK), Grinny Grandad combine the eclectic tastes of funk, 60’s psychedelic rock, electronica and pop.
‘Keep Your Hands to Yourself’ perfectly follows on from the band's previous single ‘(You’ve Got To Be) Free’ with Kymberley Kennedy delivering another soulfully energetic vocal performance with an empowering message that seems all too relevant in these times. ‘Keep Your Hands to Yourself’ has a feisty and confident aura that lives throughout it’s lyrics and production, continuing to present the bands skill for contemporary songwriting and collaborative work ethic. B-side ‘Blue Elephant’ flips the script but still feels relevant to Grinny Grandad’s ever-unfolding story. The track shows the band at their most experimental and psychedelic, with clear influence from ‘big beat’ acts of the 90’s like The Chemical Brothers with some Revolver-era Beatles thrown in for good measure.
Grinny Grandad have appeared in Grand Theft Auto (San Andreas and Liberty City Stories), Desperados Beer Advert and various TV shows – Come Dine With Me, Super Scrimpers (Channel 4), The One Show (BBC 1), Celebrity Wedding Planner (Channel 5). Their music can also be heard on the soundtrack of French film La Croisiere. Grinny Grandad has received radio support from BBC Radio (BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6), XFM and Kiss FM as well as a live session at the infamous Maida Vale Studios for BBC Radio 1. Regularly playing festivals including Glastonbury and hold a residency at Beatherder.

Almost impossible to pick a favourite from this bunch, they're all so cool. For now, I'm singling out the Kinks one because it's such an original song choice but ask me tomorrow and it'll be a different one! themichaelmoran
